The National Research Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology and Reproductive Genetics，China (the Center) was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in January 2011 and is based at Shandong University. Its mission is to conduct researches on innovations in assisted reproductive technology and reproductive genetics afterwards, these achievements will be applied to clinical practice at all levels, training technical personnel, and improving diagnosis and treatment throughout the industry. Acting in the spirit of "Based in China, Serving Asia, Facing the World”, the Center will continue to improve the Assisted Reproductive Technology and Reproductive Genetics system with the aim of establishing a comprehensive platform with an internationally advanced level of research, study and clinical practice. At the same time, the Center will lay the foundation for the aim of improving reproductive health and life quality of the population, put forward by the National 12th Five-Year Plan.
 

The only sperm bank in Shandong Province has been established with its scale ranking the first all over the country.

This sperm bank can provide nearly 50 certified reproductive medicine centers at home with nearly 20, 000 qualified frozen sperm specimens, achieving huge social benefits.
